Hold to the rod, the iron rod, Tis strong and bright and true!

This is my friend Delaney's hand and CTR ring (choose the right). Totally HER idea, and I LOVE it. Although... it doesn't look like iron LOL... more like shiny chrome! hahahahhaha

So this weekend I'm photographing PinUps; sexy portraiture that requires seduction while being clothed. After pouring through different images and such, I found a lot of peek-a-boo shots and thought, how could I make this work for me? Well... I put my crafty hat on and decided to get some red velvet, gold fringe, and a drapery gatherer and I'm making a beautiful peek-a-boo curtain. The peacock feathers will be for closeups, and will make a great look. I'm really excited! Now I just need to go get the power cord to Delaney's sewing machine... mine is at the shop being repaired LOL. So I'll be up late tonight working on the beautiful curtain and tomorrow we'll see the set up. It'll be bootiful!

Some of the tools of my trade, a compact flash card and card reader. Just playing around with my 85 mm lens, haven't touched it for quite a while. Just wanted to do some fun things with it. But quick... you know... and simple! Hope you enjoy!

My lil baby girl is sooo cute! After a crazy day sabotaging all efforts of photoshop, fixing dinner (running around my feet) and scampering hither and fro...she climbed up onto the desk in front of me and fell asleep. She has this tiny little snore! Even if you aren't a kitty person, you gotta admit she's adorable!

Yesterday, in Relief Society, we had a wonderful lesson about the Creation. Our teacher gave us each a highlighter pen with the attached sentiment: Highlight your life with the scriptures.

I feel the scriptures bring light to my life (candle), add beauty and color (roses), and taste as delicious as ripe fruit (pear). The marker serves to help me to remember what's important in my life, which is reading my scriptures to help me become closer to my Heavenly Father.

I am trying to learn how to photograph with candle light and make it beautiful. This is really my first attempt. I really enjoy doing these still lifes; I am learning a lot. Thanks for viewing; it means a lot!

Icicles have fascinated me since I was so small. I love how they are so glittery and pointy, and how they hang down so beautifully. The fact that they come from melting snow and then freeze just amazes me. How beautiful are the simple things that God has given man to enjoy in all seasons!

I took my camera out today while running around town. It was a beautiful day, I photographed an antique sewing machine, and sparkling icicles, but what caught my eye the most and helped to learn how beautiful the day was is this image. I love our flag and what it stands for. Every time I hear the Star Spangled Banner or say the Pledge of Allegiance I still get a lump in my throat and I have to choke back the tears because I love our country. I love our military and the sacrifices they and their families make. I appreciate the freedoms that are still left in this great country of ours. The only thing that could have made this a perfect shot was if an eagle had been flying around :D!

Do you see that background? Looks like pressed tin tiles, doesn't it? hahhaaaaaaaaa it's actually this plastic sheet, 3-d, that is a BACKSPLASH from Home Depot or Lowes... can't remember where I picked it up. It's one of my vignette backdrops, it'll be used for an upcoming limited edition session in May... you'll LOVE it!
In the meantime... I'm experimenting with textures, brushes and all kinds of fun stuff in PP. Hope you love!

As I peeled and ate a delicious, juice mandarin orange, I reflected how I loved them. So much so that I took many, shaped them into a heart on bright blue fabric to photograph some pop art. I love the effect of these two opposite colors brought together. And now I must get myself another orange!

The Boy Scouts were at the gym on base working on their Physical Fitness merit badge, so I brought my camera for my "random shot of the day". I noticed this guy and introduced myself who was very pleased to be asked to be photographed for my blog.

I love this black and white grainy look and think it looks great on his tattooed muscle. I think he was showing off a bit with this heavy weight. :D

I use the pot and flowers for baby girls about 9 months old... but I decided to do a still life with it, and my cherub, and tulle, and white Christmas lights and Photoshop magic. I thought this turned out really pretty. I probably want to play with it a bit more... but I really like this.

Here is a play on it... I like this too!

I was invited to a friend's baby shower today and I brought my camera... hoping I'd be able to get a detail shot of something cool for the blog. LOL Well, I couldn't decide between these two so I did a collage. I hope you guys like.

I was photographing Monty today and decided to do something fun with the rainbow... Jim helped me to execute the shot by pouring the Skittles.

I am glad I've decided to do this project. It will make me really think about doing fun things!

Happy New Year 2010!!!

I've committed to pick something daily to photograph and really stretch my creativity. You never know what it might be! And it can't be a photo session, and it needs to be totally random. I'm really excited to do this!

This first day of 2010 has been full of frosty fog here in Anchorage, AK. I love the fog. It's so beautiful. But here, in the winter, it freezes and produces BEAUTIFUL ice crystals that grow on top of each other and produces a beautiful effect that only Mother Nature can make. These are the lights that surround my front door.
